Pacific Domes - Geodesic Domes
Shelter Dome Frequency

What is a frequency?

We start with a 1 frequency icosahedron dome and divide each edge of each triangle into equal lengths. The amount of divisions is the number of frequency. The points between are then connected to divide the original triangles into smaller triangles. We use higher frequencies to make larger diameter domes in order to maintain a round appearance and also to keep the “strut” members a manageable length. Our 16’diameter dome is a 2 frequency, our 20’ and 24’ are 3 frequency, our 30’ is a 4 frequency, our 36’ is 5 frequency and our 44’ and 60’ diameter domes are 6 frequency.
